The Sharkies u/16 rugby team was the ultimate winners of the tournament held at Wynberg on the 12th March, 2011 under the auspices of the Department of Sport and Recreation.

In the group stages, they first beat Eden Farms of the SWD district 25-5. Thereafter Lamberts Bay had no answer to the skills of the Sharky players and lost 35-5. In the final group match the Sharkies beat Atlantis 20-10.

In the knock-out phase they won their quarter-final match against Citrusdal with a runaway margin of 55-5. The semifinal against Prince Albert was a much tougher encounter, with a halftime score of 10-10. MJ Arries was the man of the moment when he scored the winning try for the Sharkies.

In the final our opponents was a much stronger and bigger Khayalitsha team . The smaller built and faster Sharkies however kept their cool and won the final 20-15.
