The lucky winner of Academia’s newest competition will win a beautiful quilt hand made and donated by Wacky Whalers, one of two groups in Gansbaai belonging to the “Kwilt Gilde Van Overberg” based in Onrus. The quilt is made in the colours of our school and for just R10 you can purchase an entry into the competition. The quilt is currently on show at Jannas Pancake House in Main Street and members of the public can purchase their entries there.

The quilt was handed to the school during a tea arranged by Annamarie Buys, the coordinator of the competition. The principal made a short speech to thank the ladies for the positive contribution that they as members of Gansbaai’s community made , although they themselves had no children at the school. He expressed the hope that this would act as encouragement for other members of the community to become involved in assisting the school in becoming a leading school in South Africa.
